Happy 4th of July

Up to Silver for our traditional 4th of July weekend. The only thing missing were the owners of the House. Keegan was lost all weekend without his cousin Grace to hang out with. He spent the whole first day, pointing at every vehicle that went by saying Grace or in Keegan language Gee.
Keegan enjoying his beverage on the porch.

Kayla relaxing after a 4 wheeler ride.

There was no parade this year. I found out that they usually do it every other year or so. That doesn't stop them from the kid games or the Horseshoe tournament that goes on, on Saturday.

Brad showing Keegan where I was so he could run to me in his foot race.

Finally got into it right at the end. He had so much fun he wanted to do it all over again. Unfortunately, he had to wait, but claiming his first ribbon entertained him for a bit.

2nd place, I think maybe all the kids got that one...

Next was the potato sack race. I think the funniest part was watching them load Keegan in to the sack. It was hilarious!!!!

Literally, a dead sack of potatoes!!

A bouncing sack of potatoes...

At least he didn't freak out being inside of it.

Go Adrian Go. He had it all down and did great at it!!

Cute boy and pretty view.

Next, the favorite of them all, the Horse race.

Giddy up!!! Ended up with participant ribbons in the last two, but how fun for the kids. The races range from infants all the way to grown ups. I always have fun watching this event. At the end there is a hay toss that has a money scramble for the kids. What a great way to start your morning!!

Went to find a good fishing whole. Kayla baiting her own hook. Made dad proud!!

Looks like he was on a mission

Being a BIG boy with his own rod.

Fishing along the river. Saw some fish, but none caught to take back to cook.

HUGE ant hill. Wouldn't want to fall into that. YUCK!!! This picture doesn't actually do it justice....

Taking a break from fishing and drying her wet feet out.

Day two of fishing. We heard that the worms were great bait. So Brad decided to dig up the dirt around us. Only finding 1-2 worms per square foot he dug up.

However, we did catch a few fish that day. Very, Very small ones if you can even notice Keegan holding it up.
The 4th was spent staying up past our bedtimes. We drove up to the Summit to watch all of the fireworks in the surrounding cities and towns. Next year binoculars will come in handy cause we were expecting big and high, but we got small and far. Either way, it was a GREAT family weekend!!!!!
